Recreation
Cycling
One of Western Massachusetts’ top outdoor attractions is the Manhan Rail Trail. This 4.2-mile multi-use path runs from South Street in Easthampton to Mt. Tom Junction at the Route 5 Connecticut River boat launch—right next to D. Hotel Suites & Spa—and connects via an on-road bike lane to downtown Northampton. Guests can request one of our bikes or get assistance renting from a nearby vendor to explore the trail.
Hiking
D. Hotel Suites & Spa is just minutes from some of the area’s best hiking. Mt. Tom offers breathtaking views of the Connecticut Valley, the Berkshire Mountains, and the Pelham Hills. The Mt. Tom State Reservation spans 2,161 acres and features 22 miles of hiking and walking trails, picnicking areas, fishing at Lake Bray, cross-country skiing and ice skating in the winter, and a children’s play area. Check out the trail map and stop by our front desk for recommendations on our favorite trails and routes.
Water Sports & Recreation
The mighty Connecticut River flows right past D. Hotel Suites & Spa, offering plenty of opportunities for sailing, waterskiing, and more. Nearby, the Oxbow and Nashawannuck Pond provide beautiful settings for kayaking, fishing, and ice fishing. For adventure seekers, river tubing and white-water rafting are just a short drive from the hotel.
